The Municipality of Katerini “meets” the European sports week

Volleyball tournament with leading students of the city

With 14- to 18-year-old students as protagonists, the European sport week meets from today to Thursday (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.), in the municipal park, the Erasmus+ Sport program “Ariadne’s Thread for Youth Devianceā€.

This is a two-year program, which is implemented by the Municipality of Katerini and through volleyball aims to reduce youth delinquency, marginalization and youth deviance.

Already within the framework of the program, three volleyball tournaments were held, under the supervision of experts, while the students captured in their reports, opinions and concerns regarding youth deviation and marginalization.At the same time, seminars were organized for students-parents, while they will also follow for coaches-teachers.

The start of the tournament took place today the 26th September 2022 at the Municipal Park, where the senior advisor of the Municipality of Katerini, Maria Ntantami, who coordinates the event, and the coach (volleyball), Adriana Golema, congratulated students and teachers for the great response and participation, while expressing thanks to all contributors.It is worth noting that, on Thursday 29/09, professional volleyball athletes will also take part in the epilogue of the tournament.
